Transitional I'd say, but for the sake of simplicity let's call it Dfa.

BSk, bordering Csa. Absolutely laughable that I have the same Köppen type as Steeler. But as Easthome would say, Fort Collins and Tarragona have the same climate and we have to deal with this indisputable fact. Why is Tarragona not Bsh (warm semiarid)?

Looks like Tarragona has just barely enough precipitation to be Csa per the numbers on Wikipedia.

Why is Tarragona not Bsh (warm semiarid)? Looks like Tarragona has just barely enough precipitation to be Csa per the numbers on Wikipedia. Threshold between BSh and BSk is an annual mean of 18C, and Tarragona is slightly below this mark (17.2C).
Wikipedia doesn't show data from Tarragona. The Vila-Seca 1971-2000 averages look crap to me - absolutely no way this town has such figures. I used data from the Tarragona Complex Educatiu station. Closest AEMET station with 1991-2020 normals is Reus Airport, which is also BSk bordering Csa. However, it's true that depending on the period of records used, the area may fall within the Csa realm. In the last years/decades, thanks to higher annual averages and subpar precipitation, it's leaning to BSk, and it might become BSh in the future...

Marcelo what is the difference, or threshold, between Bsk and Bsh? Tarragona is clearly a warm climate. I'd have assumed it's already Bsh (warm semiarid).
