It's semi-arid. Hardly anywhere in AZ is actually arid, if at all.

Well factually it is semi-arid if we use the actual classification system so I don’t really get how this is a question. I won’t vote since it’s not an opinion.

By global standards, semi-arid steppe; by my standards, however, it is indeed a desert.
I voted for steppe anyways.
