Blizzard conditions this morning, with blinding snowfall and very high winds, the really strong upflow NNE winds are keeping temps extremely cold. Snowfall rates have been quite intense this morning, as 25" (63.5 cm) of snow has already fallen in only five hours. Snowfall is due to continue at about the same pace until noon, when the next cold front will come through the region and dry things out, but leave behind extremely cold air. High today was -41 F (-40.6 C) at midnight, temps will be steadily decreasing throughout the day. 11/14: -41/-82; Hardcore blizzard conditions from midnight until 1 PM, with 71.5" (182 cm) of snow recorded and a peak wind gust of 100 mph (161 kph) with steadily falling temps, clouds clearing after 3 pm tumbling down to record low levels. Extreme cold conditions this morning, in fact, it ties the all-time record low for November and it's only the 15th of the month, beat the old record for the date by 5 F! Temp is supposed to be extremely cold all day, high of only -71 F (-57.2 C) predicted with thick ice fog. This is very extreme for November, and would be considered extreme even by January standards. Looks like much milder weather is on tap for late November and early December. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
