Moving to the U.S. (South Florida) from Venezuela in 1998, I was fascinated by the frequent thunderstorms South FL gets in summer. I was six years old at the time. At school at the library, I would get weather-related books all the time, especially books detailing previous tornado outbreaks and a book called "The Weather Almanac" which had the climatological averages of all major U.S. cities. Stuff like this is what got me interested in weather / meteorology for the long haul.
