Amazing goal in the Championship this evening. Surely no way Wolves can keep a player like Rúben Neves even after being promoted. I don't know how that clown agent of his even convinced him to go there in the first place... Wolves have come into a lot of money recently, there's a good chance that they could be a top 10 Premier League team this time next year, he must have looked it it that way.

Funny seeing all the gushing over Wenger in the media, the man's achieved very little and dragged the club backwards in the last 10/12 years. He's lived off past glories for far too long.

I do think still three league titles (98, 02, 04), one Champions League final (06), seven FA Cups (98, 02, 03, 05, 14, 15, 17), finishing 2nd in the Premier League seven times (99, 00, 01, 03, 05, 15, 16) and third four times (97, 08, 10, 12) without the highest resources at any point ought to command some praise He ought to have done better in the Champions League though, especially failing to win it between 2002-2006 was definitely a disappointment for a squad like that. 2004 was a major opportunity squandered in that tournament.

In the 2nd phase of his career, 2006 onwards, he won 3 FA Cups but little else. Given the players and resources at his disposal, that wasn't good enough. I think another manager would have performed better in that period. Had he left 10 years ago he'd be held up alongside Ferguson, but his reputation has declined substantially in that last decade. He almost didn't seem to care, his tactics were woefully outdated and he accepted mediocrity.

There's going to be a lot of interest in this vacant Arsenal position, Carlo Ancelotti and Brendan Rodgers have already expressed interest.

Happy day indeed for rpvan Thoughts? A legend and one of the best managers of all time. It's obvious that he's overstayed his welcome for the past few seasons; hopefully everyone can finally unite and send him off with a european trophy.

He should have gone about 8 years ago, but it's a shame his final years were defined by decline and fan protests. A once revolutionary manager who became the out of touch grandfather, bittersweet.

Yeah, Ancelotti is a great manager, but he wouldn't really be a long term solution; he doesn't tend to stay very long at clubs. I guess what they could do is appoint him for three years or something with Henry as his assistant so he can take over after Ancelotti leaves.

Would be strange after 22 years of stability to switch to the usual hire and fire model.

Annoying to concede two at the end, but I think we've almost certainly done enough to book our place in the Final. Great night.
