Got 6 extra group stage games on SBS (the public world cup broadcaster) as Optus Sports (paid subscription service) fucked up massively and barely worked the 5 days. The PM publicly tweeted the CEO of optus to fix the bloody problem and as a result we've now got 3 games on SBS tonight instead of the 1 game that was planned (2am England vs Tunisia). Now have 8pm, 11pm and 2am games; awesome stuff. Oh what the fuck page 35 didn't show up for me so i thought my previous post about the same thing just didn't upload onto the soccer thread...well, may as well leave both up as this is a more concise version of the previous one : ) Should have just all been free in the first place. NOW THEY'RE ALL BACK ON SBS FUCK YEAH FUCK YOU OPTUS AND ANY OTHER CHEAP INVOLVED IN THE DEAL R E K T E K T

Unfortunately, nothing up front went our way

Coutinho is fucking amazing. If he keeps up this performance he should be considered as one of the top players

Coutinho is indeed very good, hence his hefty price tag. Weird how Liverpool improved once he left.

Pretty based and interesting that two Kosovans have essentially knocked Serbia out, isn't it Ariete and jgtheone?

Serbia is kinda mini russia in a way innit haha I'll stop, it was pretty controversial what the swiss goalscorers did though, or at least it was made to be controversial by the reactions to it

haha I'll stop, it was pretty controversial what the swiss goalscorers did though, or at least it was made to be controversial by the reactions to it The problem wasn't the celebrations, it was that Serbia had a controversial uncalled penalty, even with the existence of VAR. What is the point of having the system in the first place if you're not going to use it? Aside from that feels like the ref was overly friendly towards Switzerland in general, every close call went their way

Was it some sort of handball penalty that they got? That seems to be where we've gotten a couple of goals and certainly other sides too.

Two Swiss defenders grabbed at Serbian striker Mitrovic in the penalty box and straight up pulled him down to the ground. It was a very obvious penalty, even the commentators were asking why they didn't go to VAR

I strongly agree with VAR usage, but there's been a lack of common sense in its usage sometimes, one would have thought common sense was a basic qualification for refs, clearly not.

They need to be more consistent, especially on the world stage.
