Lol, guessed it.
But, from the wiki article: "Kazan has a humid continental climate (Kรถppen climate classification Dfb) with long, cold winters (colder than Moscow), and warm, often dry summers."
Kazan is the coldest major city in Tatarstan. It is colder than Moscow. Kazan is always colder. Kazan is the capital of Tatarstan. It is colder than Moscow.

Nope. Itโs worse than Astana IMO but still squeezes by Islamabad. Lots of continental lovers who thought Astana was too cold or too dry will probably like it though. How does Kazan squeeze by Islamabad? It's significantly superior. It's very similar to Sudbury, Ontario which is a candidate for a new place to live for me and my wife...

How does Kazan squeeze by Islamabad? It's significantly superior. Maybe for you it is, not for me. Its too cold year round, itโs too stable, itโs too wet, itโs too cloudy, spring warms up too slow. Iโd give it a D-, Islamabad an E+.

B-, too weak in winter and indice dรฉsertique is too high. I would say C/C-, it's like a downgraded NYC, with a lot less ensoleillement and rain

Thatโs actually pretty good. B-. Like NYC but drier so itโs a slight upgrade.

Thatโs actually pretty good. B-. Like NYC but drier so itโs a slight upgrade. temperatures are close, but seems worse than in NYC in every other way possible. Less sunshine, more humidity, more seasonal lag, more precipitation days. Kabul is way better

Astana B-, dry Tashkent C-, summer's too hot and dry, mild winters Ashgabat D+, even hotter and drier Bishkek C+, too warm and dry Dushnabe C, summer is too hot, but not as dry overall Kabul C-, too hot in summer, too dry Islamabad D+, too hot and/or humid in summer Kazan A-, very good climate, a bit dry, better than any of the climate battle options Maxachkala C+, too warm and dry Some other notable climates: Almaty is pretty good for a four-season climate Talgar is near Almaty and similar to Kazan. It's my new favorite for Kazakhstan. If it was as wet as Almaty it would be an A climate. Taraz reminds me of Turpan: extreme and dry. Semey has a record low of -48.6C in November, which is 40C below the average low and completely insane if real. Pakistan has some very hot desert climates, like Sibi.

Probably kabul, even if it's too dry it has more moderate temps with cooler summer lows and still reasonable winters. Dushanbe's winter looks quite nice though.
Nw south asia definitely has quite a bit of continental influence going on, even with the monsoon. Islamabad's definitely much too hot for me but quite decent for lowland south asia for its long cool season and relatively moderated summer temps, it's much better than interior sindh/balochistan which has brutal heat in places like Sibi and Mohenjo-Daro.
Srinagar is a lot better than all of these ones though, would be quite excellent if it had kabul's cooler summer nights, some sort of highland arizona/appalachian cross.

Bishkek. Rest of them are either unpleasantly too cold or too hot than the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

Dushanbe seems like the least of the evils.
