Either more seasonal, but thunderstorm-free and dry summers or a very low annual range with significant wet parts of summer, with both warmth and sun angle/UV peak in spring.
I'd go for Mexico City (A- vs B-). While Catania is too hot and humid in summer, and probably even hotter using 1981-2010, winters are rather brilliant there. Having said that Mexico City is within perfection temperature range year round. The UV is a bit of an issue though but after 4:30 pm (the 90° peak angle falling beneath 50° at that time) it should be okay even in May-August. It's likely to be hammered by thunderstorms in its wet season given the low latitude, that's not a positive for me, but definitely for some on here.

Catania easily. More seasonal, drier, sunnier, more variable.
It’s a C- vs. an E+.

Mexico city. It's not like Catania has winter anyway so may as well go with the one that doesn't have stupid dry summers.

Catania...
Also I bet it averages 20C plus lows now in July. Most Southern European locations in recent summers seem to have constant 21C+ lows every time I have looked..

Even though it's got those gaybo summers with fuck all storms? Spring and fall actually get a decent amount of storms. According to Ogimet they’ve had 28, 31, 32 and 17 thunderstorms the past 4 years and they already have 16 this year. So not super stormy but they still get a decent amount, only slightly less than Rochester and upstate NY.
