Perhaps not highest in the "interest level" category, but certainly an intriguing climate battle, considering the various features of these. For me, Amsterdam Island wins due to average temps bein warmer in summer.
Crescent City has a dry season, more likely to get frosts, more sun (above 2,000 hours in that region of California), but is generally cooler both in summer and winter. The latitude is also higher, resulting in stronger sun when it comes out at Amsterdam Island. The main reason that island is uninhabitated is the rocky and difficult nature of building any settlements and harbours there combined with the sheer isolation, but it's certainly easier to live on than Kergeulen - and arguably the most pleasant climate of uninhabitated islands of significant size. Remember that Tristan da Cunha and Pitcairn only got settled through shipwrecks.

guessing Crescent City is around 2200 hours, maybe more. Extra 2°F isn't worth that much less sun. Also, Crescent City is much better outside of winter a few miles inland; 5°F warmer about 5 km inland.

Crescent city is MUCH better. A lot less rainy days, higher record highs, lower record lows, more sun. I’d imagine it gets snow every couple years too, doesn’t look like Amsterdam island would ever get any.

I don't like either one, but Crescent city is more seasonal, gets more extreme temperatures, and has more sunshine.
Edit: Is Amsterdam Island windy?

Probably but I'd guess it's more breezy than windy.
