This is a battle between the capital of Madagascar and the county seat of Sonoma County directly north of the Bay Area. I think this battle will be quite interesting, since Santa Rosa combines the larger seasonal range with a mediterranean climate, whereas Antananarivo has its dry season in winter.
For me this is rather close, both are solid A- climates. Ultimately the fact that the summer is somewhat ruined in Antananarivo by the monsoonal rainfall, hands this one to Santa Rosa by the tiniest of margins. The additional sunshine for Santa Rosa (likely around 3,000 hours annually) is also contributing to deciding the tie. Santa Rosa does have a sizeable wildfire risk, but by the end of Antananarivo's dry season, I would expect the same being the case for it. Even rather wet-winter climates in Northern California are prone to wildfires, and Antananarivo has tropical sun.
Either way, cut Antananarivo's summer precipitation by 1/3 and it would've breezed through this battle for me.

Santa Rosa, FUCKEN!Don't even need to explain this one. Choice made upon sight of the climate box colours, Jævla! Also, both of them have ugly drought periods. Antananario is yet even worse with its boring ass 20° C gayshit and drought conditions... Not even its stormy summers can save it!

Both of them have terrible drought periods, but I'd much prefer 30° C over boring, mind-numbing 20° C gayshit. The climate box for the warmer place is just too fucken orange-coloured. |
