Gudgenby River, catchment area for the greater Murrumbidgee River, is precisely where the record low temperature for the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) was held; on 11th July, 1971, the temperature had plummeted to –14.6° C. The nearest settlement is Tharwa, ACT. I hereby award Gudgenby with an A–; winters not cold and damp enough for my liking, chiefly.

Very good summer afternoons, too cool nights in relation to what the mean ends up (similar to July here but with higher diurnals), whereas winter is way better than many other high single-digit places, due to the diurnals and not too much cold rain. If only 10°C is available as an annual mean and there can be no permanent snow cover, it is distributed very well.

Winters highs too warm and not wet enough in summer. Other than that it is decent.
