That's weird since small lakes around here easily get to 28°C LST's when they're that shallow during heat waves, and that is with cooler weather than there, whereas a bit larger lakes usually are able to get to 25-26°C. Anyway, it is probably small enough to cool down a lot overnight, hence it could have significant diurnals just as the lakes here have. Given it is much smaller than Lake Michigan it would seem strange for it to have afternoon surface temps lower than what they are in Chicago, considering how summer air temps are rather similar.
Yes, the key words are "during heat waves". While it is certainly is possible, the average temp of those lakes is probably 17-20C.

Anyway, alex992 is the climate an A, B or lower for you? They're not lower than Chicago. Lake Michigan near Chicago average ST is 21.5 C. www.seatemperature.org/north-america/united-states/chicago-july.htmAnyways, I rate this climate a solid B. Great continentality, but too dry.

Wow, this is an interesting climate for sure. Not many climates have such cold winters while still having proper summers. I'll give it a C. Sunshine is fantastic but the winters are brutally cold.
