To me, while the European Major Cities (Moskva, St-Peterburg) are D/D+ ish climates, I believe the country overall deserves a D+ to to its severe continentality and winter bleakness in its European portion that in my opinion cancels out its relative mildness. That being said, Novorossiysk is a solid B, while the worst climates are probably places like Dikson or Oymakon
-- solid E to F places. European Russia is still a D+ climate overall (better in the south), while Siberia is a solid D/D- and E/F in the worst locations.
Autumn also tends to be awful outside of the south, while the country is prone to unpleasant heatwaves despite its northerly latitude due to its continentality. Many harsh siberian D-grade cities like Novosibirsk, Omsk, Irkutsk... Vladivostok is also unfortunately rather chilly for its latitude. Sochi is a bit muggy but of course is one of the better choices for the country. Kaliningrad is also disappointing for failing to be as mild as Rostock. Overall its one of the bleakest countries climatewise onaverage, only saved through its southern edge-- mostly harsh winter climates despite its vast size...
Most places and cities are D but the far south is excellent, A- in my opinion.
