Here is a climate I have talked about on this forum on many occasions, but which no climate table exists for. At least, until now. This climate is a popular resort destination in the PNW and is close to skiing at Mt Bachelor. I had previously found approximations like Wickiup Dam and Chemult, but they never quite matched. However, NOAA has rather patchy data that only starts in 1998 - but it's data nontheless. Using that data, I created this climate table which I believe is accurate. Sunriver is located in south-central Oregon at 43ยบ50'N. It is at 4164' elevation and located on a high plateau feature on the eastern slope of the Cascades that stretches from just south of Bend to Upper Klamath Lake. Due to its highland location, the area gets cold nights year-round, even in summer. As a result, the area gets over 200 frosts a year, and frost is possible on any day of the year, even in July and August. The average freeze-free season is just 48 days. The earliest last frost is June 9th, while the latest first frost is September 15th. Although it sure is a fun place to visit, I rate it a C- for being too dry year round (albeit with snow) and a bit too cold for my liking in winter and spring. Luckily for this climate, I am not a gardener. Also, remember when I said I woke up to a 34ยฐF morning here in July? I was wrong. It was actually a 30ยฐF morning.

A; spectacular summers, with lovely winters; all it needs is more winter precipitationโlikewise snowfallโfor to earn the seal of A+, as well as more cell activity.

C-
Too mediocre winters to truly be going somewhere. Summers are alright.

C- Diurnal ranges are unofrtunately messed up here, I'd really like some mildness during summer nights... The snow is interesting. Winters are a bit too cold for me but easily manageable. It's also too dry year round. Overall, Valley Oregon is significantly better but it would be interesting to get more snow there.

B-. Needs warmer springs and summers, more variability and the precipitation pattern isnโt great but itโs still a solid climate. Definitely better than Rochester.

E like most US mainland climates. Uncomfortably hot summer highs, above freezing winter highs (gotta love that slush). Not one pleasantly comfortable or decently cold month.

B
Dryer and probably sunnier than ideal but not a terrible climate. Good sleeping weather year-round.

I don't know how can you perceive in certain temperatures when it's changing at a fast rate in every hour. Anyways D-.

Shitriver's summer average lows are inexcusable. I'd be running the heat year-round at night. It's also too dry every month except December, has a cold winter, and gets snow in May. E

C-, gets decent snow, but it doesn't have nearly enough continentality, way too cold at night during summer and much too dry.

E+. Absolutely terrible, one of the worst in the lower 48. Nights (and even days) are way too cold year round and has horrible dry summers.

F. Disgusting. One of the worst PNW climates I've ever seen, and this is coming from someone who likes Seattle and Portland.

E Y'all (everyone bitching about the cold summer lows) don't know what it's like there though. You'd probably be fine there unless you're outside early in the morning. The mornings can be cold but it always warms up to some very very comfortable temps (in summer at least).
