Let's rate Portugal! It's a B- from me. It has a milder climate than its iberian counterpart, so it has less of a cool season/snow and less continentality than I would prefer in most of the country apart from the NE, which hurts it gradewise a bit, but also milder, more pleasant summers than the Mediterranean coast of Spain for me. Ultimately, having a pleasant warm season is more important than chill/snow potential though, so I'd rather choose Portugal than say, coastal Norway. In addition, I prefer temperate to mediterranean vegetation, so perhaps a bit less of a summer dry season would be nice. The interior Center and Alentejo looks too hot, with Beja as the worst climate in the country (it looks somewhat milder than Andalucía though to give it credit) while highlands in the NE like Trancoso have the nicest climate, probably my favorite in Iberia? Thoughts Lommaren ?

B+. Overall it's good. A bit too mild in general though. Also it needs more thunder and more summer rain. The southern area is probably my preferred climate for when I get old... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faro,_Portugal#Climate Right now, I think I'd prefer this place: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castelo_Branco,_Portugal#Climate

A-
Some world-class areas, but most of the time it's B+/B.
Madeira and the Azores bring it up to the A-degree.
