It was 7°C in the bathroom when I went for a shit, but that very act caused a considerable instantaneous rise in temperatures.

Does anyone else use a thermostat? The idea of heating being "on" or "off" on certain times or dates seems odd to me, simply cause I use it to maintain a minimum acceptable temperature. So it would be on whenever the temp goes below that level, which could happen even in the summer, should it get cold enough (and it has done). I have the windows open for the warmer half of the year; so a thermostat on means the heat could kick in on a chilly night and it'd get straight out the window. Warm enough that if you wait it'd warm up naturally, waste for the heat to go on for a few hours of warmth. Obviously my climate is much warmer than yours for that half the year. I just turn the thermostat down to like 45°F if there's no heat switch. I've been in homes where the heat kicked in in June; and not all the windows were closed because who expects heat to come on in June?

Am I the only person in the Northern Hemisphere in a four-season climate who still hasn't put their heating on yet? It's still 18-19C here, probably closer to 19C. turned mine on November 9

Yeah, in my apartment I probably get about 3-5 days warm enough to open a window. That said I tolerate high temperatures well so high indoor temps don't bother me (it reaches 30°C in my flat amazingly enough). My heater is actually a portable convector heater. It has preset thermostat settings but I do turn it off. It's only on when the room I'm in is below 18°C and that's the temp I keep it at.

The lounge recorded 7.0°C earlier today, could have been even lower overnight.

I turned mine on November 1st and it's basically been left on since then. I had one warm day in the middle of November when I opened windows in the afternoon; the heat was "on" but didn't kick in. Had trouble getting my living room to warm up yesterday evening; was so cold.

why is it 52°F inside my apartment? Doesn't feel quite that cold still chilly. I hope my heat didn't break.
