I really like this one; it's my favourite PNW climate along with Tacoma. The reason being the cool summer nights, averaging minor frosts in winter rather than 1-2C all the time, and also comfy summer evenings with quite a bit of daylight in summer and a reasonably moderate sun angle. It rains a bit too much in winter, but still: B.

Giving this a B, winters are perfect but summers and shoulder seasons are too cool, especially the nights.

D-. Nightmare winters although summers are pleasant but still boring.

D-. Nightmare winters although summers are pleasant but still boring. I'd wager summers are a fair bit more unstable than Rochester Kind of easy swapping between 100F to 70F in short durations of time. Similar to inland Basque Country in Spain.

I was mostly referring to the lack of thunderstorms but the temps are much more interesting than a Rochester summer. They probably get a few every summer though. It's not San Francisco or LA I'd imagine all its summer rain falling in very few pieces and during thunderstorms when the cool ocean air meets the warm interior air.

Nope, Forest Grove is significantly warmer during summer days and more prone to extreme heat than Olympia. From what I've seen it appears to hit 100F like every year in Forest Grove.

D-
Polar lows year round, anemic stormless crummers with subarctic lows. A real toilet of a climate.

B- I don't like the precipitation pattern and summer nights are too cold, but it's one of the best West Coast climates out there.

D-. Summers too cool, especially the lows, dry and not enough t-storms. Winters averages aren't horrible, but too cloudy and a bit too much rain. A good amount of snow.

I'm from that general area. It's boring. Summers are too hot and dry and winters are still anemic, although not as bad as Portland proper. You really need elevation and/or latitudinal gain on the west coast to get to more interesting climates.

B. Not a bad climate. Only negatives would be that it may be a bit on the sunny side in the summer and prone to occasional heatwaves. Big plus is the low humidity in the summer, cool summer nights, and rainy winters. I hope I can go out west again next summer. Oregon is beautiful.

B-. Very nice, but summer lows are too cool and winters look like they could get snow.

A/A-! I really like the crisp quality achieved by the diurnals-- I would adore autumn here, with the warm days and cool nights-- gives a hemiboreal summer/subtropical highland vibe! I wish its rain pattern was a bit more even, to promote more deciduous vegetation, and a bit less heatwavey in summer (Olympia might be a touch nicer-- but this one has slightly better transitions) [and it's not muggy and has cool nights, which would help], but very nice otherwise. Those winters Lommaren !

C/C+. Decent climate but still too cool year-round. Winters are too wet while summers are too dry and lacking in t-storms. Slightly better than Seattle though.

C. Average highs are great year round, but diurnal range is too high in the summer and winters are way too wet for my liking.

Bβ, chiefly because it gets very little (if any) storm activity, considering its location.
