Alice Springs
Near ideal temperature range although rainfall is way too low. Townsville is actually decent and at least has a wet season, but the lack of winter and long winter drought lose it.

Maybe you could just explain why rather than throwing out insults Beercules.
He is right though AJ, Townsville doesn't get as many storms as you'd think because the storms usually sit on the escarpment and further inland. There are usually temperature inversions where the coast is colder than the mountains which is a pretty big factor in storm decay. So any storms that move down to the coast often break down if shear is weak (which it usually is in tropical areas). It's quite a common issue on most of the East Coast of Australia including Brisbane and Sydney.

No it gets less storms than you would expect but it still gets more than Alice Springs according to the sources I found. Of course neither comes close to the 38.5 storms Tucson gets or the ~75 here in Miami.

Yeah it probably does get more than Alice Springs but I would expect Alice would get better quality storms when it does get them. Both are pretty damn shitty stormwise though, when compared to places like SE QLD and the Top End.

AJ1013 That BOM "storm map" which you showcased, is downright bollocksβplain estimates and petty modelling. Just look at how it underplays the severely stormy regionals of the Northern Tablelands, Darling Downs, and so forth straddling the NSW-QLD borderlands. Also, I can assure you that the Northern Tablelands receive not only a greater storm quantity than Tucson, but also greater storm quality. From experience; forecasts, discussions on Weatherzone Forums etc, the Northern Tablelands and Darling Downs can easily surpass >38.5 storms annually, most years. To conclude, I get far more storms of far greater quality than Sydney could ever wish for, yet that idiotic map suggests otherwise. How accurate...not! Bugger me sideways.

With the above developments further enlightening my climatic knowledge of Aussieland, I henceforth amend my esteemed vote to that of, Alice Springs...fucken!

You used to be an easy going heat lover, and yet now you get anal about bullshit and like 12/23C Swedish Crummers and believe in that AGW malarky Oh yeah you're a uni student now. And had to fit in with the WZ crew. Liking heat and summer on WZ is illegal. But that was mostly a Qld/Vic/Tas/SA thing. The NSW section was relatively tolerant. That'll be right. Bring back the cool high school bloke that I knew and liked on WZ please.

I've seen your posts on here and you just take the absolute piss out of anyone who's different to you. Open your mind to others opinions ffs. You're a funny bloke but far out.. When did I say I hated the heat??

Townsville, fuckaaaaaaan!Much better rainfall. Interesting that itβs so much drier than Innisfail which is not far away, however. Anyone here know why? Due to geography- Townsville is setback to the west & also rain shadowed by ranges to the south and Magnetic Island to the ene.
