Which climate do you prefer. These two locations are nearly the same latitude. A pretty hard choice for me. I guess I'll go with Austin narrowly for better winters with greater chances of seeing snow. Jacksonville has only had measurable snowfall 3 days since 1911. Outside of Jul-Sep, Austin's climate seems a bit more interesting. Austin's summers are too hot and frustratingly dry with drought common in July and August. Though Austin does get some good quality t-storms at times especially late spring/early summer. Jacksonville's rainfall pattern and amounts are more to my liking. Interestingly, Jacksonville is sunnier on average than Austin. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austin,_Texas#Climate en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacksonville,_Florida#Climate

This is a good one. I'd like to say Jacksonville for wetter summers, but Austin seems more interesting outside of summer. Hmmmm. Guess I'd go with Austin.

Austin's summers, while being hotter, are probably a bit less humid, so think i'll choose it. Both have way too hot and long summers for me though. Austin is probably on the dry side for its evp totals, prefer jacksonvilles less semi-arid precip but its also in a poor, summer-heavy and early fall heavy pattern., so probably very insecty summers .

Jacksonville for being ever so slightly cooler in terms of annual mean and also having a longer comfortable season. Austin's winter averages are really good, make no mistake, but since there's no snow anyway, might as well go with warmer winters and less severe summers.

Jacksonville. More rain and slightly milder and more stable summers. Both are decent though.

Jville, Austin's summers are too hot Quite a high grade for Jacksonville on your scale, right?

My god. Both are horrific, I guess Austin for cooler year round. I would just hide inside during summer

My god. Both are horrific, I guess Austin for cooler year round. I would just hide inside during summer Purely based on the winter average high? After all, Jacksonville is:
* Cooler in terms of winter avg low * Cooler in terms of average annual low * Cooler in terms of January avg minimum (close to -5°C)!
So, my guess is that you purely base it upon 16 vs 18?

Jville, Austin's summers are too hot Quite a high grade for Jacksonville on your scale, right? Sorta. It's a straight B climate becasue its mostly warm throughout the year and has plentiful storms in the summer months without compensating with lower sun totalts. However, the factors bringing it down are the overly hot summers (thinking in terms of heat index) and too unstable winters.

Don't like either, but I think I'll go with Austin for having slightly cooler winters and a bit more variety overall.

Both of these are pretty ideal for me but I'm going with Austin narrowly because of the lack of hurricanes.

Austin for being more interesting, having hotter summers, and lower dew points.

Both of these are pretty ideal for me but I'm going with Austin narrowly because of the lack of hurricanes. Jacksonville is actually one of the least hurricane-prone places in the Eastern US due to its position where the coastline curves inward/westward. Savannah about the same. The hurricane threat there isn't like the rest of Florida.
