One of the best climates in Mexico vs. one of the worst. It'd be interesting to see whether cold-lovers/heat-haters would want to put up with semi crummers just for a chance of sub-zero lows.

Pachucha for being drier and not being warm/hot all year.

Pachuca. Cool mornings year-round, no predominant monsoon season, and assuming less lightning count.

Both are pretty nice, but I'll pick Cuernavaca for being warmer and sunnier.

The capitals for Mexico and many Latin American locations are at high elevations because they are easier to defend and didn't have malaria, so they were advantageous from a historical point of view. of course, but now thats not a problem, especially in regards to defence

of course, but now thats not a problem, especially in regards to defence Capitals are hard to change because all government buildings and embassies would have to be moved. Also, capitals tend to be determined by political, historical, or economic reasons. For example, Washington, D.C. was chosen as a combination of northern and southern cultural and political ideas at the time. Where capitals are doesn't affect anyone's life other than dictating where government officials go. No matter where the capital is moved, people will live where they want to when they have the choice. Climate is usually considered a small factor compared to economy and social issues. Mexico City is the largest and one of the most economically advanced cities in Mexico, plus it has a central location, so why not leave the capital there? yeah if it wasnt clear i didnt mean it as a serious suggestion, id understand how hard that'd be.

Cuernavaca. It's hotter but no hotter than I'm used to. And the higher rainfall should give better vegetation. Pachucha never really gets to summer or fall, just constant pleasant weather. The main downside is the dryness.

Pachucha.
Summers are kind of shitty - I don't like the fact that there can be subzero lows - but still wins over Cuernavaca for more temp variation through the year.

I'll pick Cuernavaca for actually having summery temps and more variation. Seems like it gets nice dry warmth.
