At 6,684 ft (2,037 m), Mount Mitchell is the highest point in the US east of the Mississippi and has the coolest climate in the Southeast US. It has the coolest summers of anywhere in the US east of the Rockies outside of the highest elevations of New York and New England. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Mitchell#EnvironmentI rate it a D+ because it's too rainy and summers are too cool.

E, winter isn't excessively frigid, and sunshine probably is fine, but very little warmth whatsoever. Unsure if it's better than St John's, summer record highs there are higher but this spot is likely sunnier. Maybe there is slightly better.

D; summers far too cool and FAR too wet and stable. Winters vary excessively in temps, and too frigid. Only the mad snowfall saves it. Das ist ein HERP.

Unsure if it's better than St John's, summer record highs there are higher but this spot is likely sunnier. Maybe there is slightly better. It and St Johns both have the issue of getting too much rain in winter, which harms what would otherwise be a nice snowpack.

D, too much rain and not continental enough. Winter temperatures aren't bad, but most of the precipitation falls as cold rain when it should be mostly snow. Also, the record high of 81 is terrible. It is a mountain after all, not a place to live.

Summers are fine but super wet. The winters are very snowy, but a tad bit too cold for me to want it like that every day. For me, it is tolerable, but there are climates I would rather live in. I give it a C+

F, pretty bad. I know there's a lot of total snow, but the amount of snow days seems really low. Does it get hit by a bunch of warm fronts?

This is an F, largely because it's windy af. Though I have no doubt the occasional calm, sunny, mild to warm summer day feels nice.
