I'm going to go with Knoxville for the best mix of warmth but not too long summers. Early spring records are colder than they should be though

Sault Ste Marie. Summer is on the cool side, winter is great. Gaylord is also excellent. By the time you get to Detroit it's warmer than ideal, and keeps getting worse from there.

Tough choice between Macon and Atlanta (both C+). I went with the latter for having lower diurnals and more precipitation despite less sun

Went with Knoxville, it has the best temperatures of the bunch
