LOL. Well, what if that NJ pizza enthusiast is right? I see nothing preventing that from being so. Anyway, I intended this thread for recreational purposes, and I like chemistry, and always have. I happened to watch the TED talk video I posted yesterday, and enjoyed it, and thought I'd share it. I only stated that I disagreed with a few statements he made, which really had nothing to do with the presentation itself.
I think you should keep that god shit in the "do you believe in a god" -thread instead of contaminating every other thread with your totally unscientific loony ideas. Thanks.

That's a bit uncalled for...

Since when has this been a consideration of yours?

I just mixed vinegar and baking powder to form water molecules and evil carbondioxide. I think I know what I'm talking about when I say that everyone with a PhD in radiochemistry is wrong. Just because I love pizza pie doesn't mean I can't be right on this matter.

I successfully made Copper(II) acetate Cu(C 2H 3O 2) 2 by reacting Copper, hydrogen peroxide and vinegar.

I like that you can type in just about any chemical and get a Chinese company that claims to sell it. Two companies will sell you manganese heptoxide. The first one is pharmaceutical grade.

This is really fascinating. Just look at the apparent Super Mario bit flip.
Neat video, though I disagree with the "billions of years" and evolution stuff.

James Tour is a synthetic organic chemist and professor of chemistry at Rice University. Excellent video here on the subject of the origin of life:

An excellent example of rock-paper-scissors game when it comes to chemistry: ruthenium metal is not dissolved by acids, but is dissolved by a common household chemical—bleach! chemistry.stackexchange.com/questions/33975/reaction-between-ruthenium-and-bleachThis occurs because the hypochlorite (OCl —) ion serves an oxidizer; an alkaline medium is required to dissolve it off, the reaction is the following...
Ru + 3 NaOCl + 2 NaOH ⟶ Na2RuO4 + 3 NaCl + H2O
Ru + 7 NaOCl + 2 NaOH ⟶ 2 NaRuO4 + 7 NaCl + H2O
NaOCl ⟶ 2 NaCl + H2O [ruthenate catalyzed]
Na2RuO4 + NaOCl + H2O ⟶ RuO4 + NaCl + 2 NaOH
