The last couple of days have had tornados and supercell storms all around parts of Yorkshire, but mainly Manchester and Liverpool areas, yet here in York we haven't even had a drop of rain. All these big storms have consistently been West of us unfortunately.

Luhanka Judinsalo is a station on an island of Lac Päijänne 50 km south from Jyväskylä, and though it has been operational since 1992, I just noticed it yesterday, because it had a diurnal of 24.7C/19.7C.
It's one of the northernmost far inland locations which is solidly Köppen Schmöppen Dfb. It has also never maded a September freeze.

Some models starting to show an outside chance of record breaking temps for June next week. Unlikely to happen, but 32-33c should be widely reached.
Typical that I will miss it.

Another ridiculous stat. The avearage rainfall for June (on Wiki) is 43.2mm. 24% of that average was from that one day. (304.6/(43.2*30) = 0.235)

At least two "tropical nights" last night with Väderöarna and Nordkoster having 20.0 and 20.1'C lows respectively.

At least two "tropical nights" last night with Väderöarna and Nordkoster having 20.0 and 20.1'C lows respectively. Congrats. I see that Väderöarna is an island in the North sea and that it is 23C there in the afternoon. Well, as always, such marine weather stations have good lows and disappointing highs. I would rather prefer and call a low of 18C and a high of 30C tropical than a low of 20C and a high of 23C. But yeah, "on paper" the second will have a tropical night.
