Furthest north 100F ever recorded; about 70 miles further than previous record, Fort Yukon Alaska Just lol @ "frightening"… As if 70 miles poleward even makes a difference RE summer heat—especially considering that Verkhoyansk's location lay significantly farther inland than that of Fort Yukon. The only thing that's frightening, is the notion that a meteorologist would even think about making such an ill-informed, amateurish statement like that. Truly frightening!

We've had 3 seconds of sunshine recorded after 22.00 this June despite the sunset being 23.07 today. So the sun recorder doesn't record sunshine for the last hour of daylight.

Extremely warm mean in the Trondheim fjord yesterday. Both the high and the low in Trondheim Værnes were near record breaking at the same time.

Would have thought Death Valley would have been hotter Truly one of the most interesting patterns I’ve seen in recent times. Hope to many more of those in the future!

Gothenburg is sitting at 23.7/13.4/18.5 for June so far, and the national record is 19.0'C, so it's very possible given their forecast that the Swedish national record will be broken this month. A 20'C mean is out of question though. Stockholm is at a mere 22.5/12.1/17.0 though, so only a little over 1'C above average.
I decided I'd look into the dozen or so different stations within Oslo using Eklima. Here's the stations below 200m that have been online the last 30 days.
Ljabruveien 96m: 24.9/11.0/NaN Lambertseter 135m: 23.2/12.7/NaN Hovin 100m: 23.6/13.7/18.7 Haugenstua 123m: 23.7/10.9/NaN Disen 136m: 23.9/13.2/18.5 Bygdøy 15m: 24.5/11.9/18.5 Blindern University station #2 94m: 23.9/13.2/18.6
Then there's this station, in Sofienberg which is pretty much dead center in the UHI core at 37m which has recorded 25.2/14.9. Absolutely ridiculous station compared to many of the stations that are already pretty ridiculous. The June record in Norway is apparently 20.5'C from Oslo Observatory in 1889 if such figures can be trusted.
Gulsvik is at an impressive 25.4'C average high (11.2 and 18.0 low and mean) so far. They might see a 26'C average high when the month is completed.

Wtf. For some strange reason, SST's on the north coast of Estonia are extremely cold compared to everywhere else in the baltic sea. 14'C differences in like 100km what the fuck

Surprising how northern Siberia and Far East are on fire, but the sea of okhotsk is still stuck in the 50s and 60s

Umeå reached 27.0'C today. The hottest in the country was "only" 31.7'C in Forse 120km SW of Umeå. More impressive however is they recorded 31.4'C after 8pm!

Junsele 150km west of Umeå has had some seriously consistent heat. 12 days in a row above 25'C

Word on the street is that the June record could be broken tomorrow. The Oracle says this will not happen.

Of more interest is the very high UV levels of 8/9 on the south coast, I was outside for less than an hour today and caught the sun quite a lot. It’s quite rare for such high UV indexes to be achieved although we are right on the solstice, I wonder if there are any other factors helping this though? 8 usually happens a few times a year but I have never heard of UV indexes of 9 in the UK before!

According to Temis.nl which seems like the most "scientific" site for pure ozone forecasts and uv indices, southern England is only at 7-8 for UVI. Ozone's around 310 which is very low but not extreme. WO is also forecasting 7 UVI. Umeå however, is having some extreme UV indices and has had that for over a week now. Closer to the arctic, the ozone layer is a lot thicker on average. DU's of <300 are very rare here, especially on the first half of summer. To have 290 DU coalign with the solstice is creating some of the strongest UV indices ever for Umeå Generally UV indices tend to be higher during heatwaves because ozone's thinner closer to the equator, and when airmasses are coming from the south, the thinner ozone tends to follow.

Said on our local radio yesterday that UV levels were 9 in York too, and that it's exceptionally rare for here.

The highest UV recorded at an official station in the UK was 8.9 at Camborne.
PWS down on the south coast of Cornwall have seen up to 9.2 previously.

Uni station 28.2'C at 12.30, and airport 27.5'C at 12.00. A linear rise of temperature that still hasn't abated due to any sea breeze, which is weird because we'd had SE winds all morning, and now it's starting to approach SW. Considering the sea is to the south and east, we shouldn't be this warm
