Ouyen is a Victorian town located in the heart of the Mallee region of the State. The Mallee was one of the last districts in Victoria to be settled and cleared for cropping and grazing by Europen pioneers. The name Mallee refers to eucalypts that have a multi-stemmed habit. ... An extensive woody roots are produced by some mallee. These oversized lignotubers contain water that allows them to regenerate quickly after fire or to survive longer in drought. They were extremely difficult to clear before the invention of internal combustion powered machinery, and the mallee scrub often regenerates from the underground root systems. www.malleenativeplants.com.au/mallee-scrub/Ouyen en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ouyenwww.murrayriver.com.au/ouyen/BOM max temps data Ouyen Post Office 1957-2021 BOM min temps data Ouyen Post Office 1957-2021 BOM rainfall data Ouyen Post Office 1913-2021

Way too dry in winter, diurnals too high, but itโs got nice hot, dry summers and mild winters. Iโll give it a B-.

Lol, it's just not my kind of climate. The summer temps are nice but it's way too dry, winter is too warm. I like warm/hot and stormy (wet) summers and cold, snowy winters.

D. Summer is too Hot, and not much of a winter. Although, there isn't humidity in summer, so that's a plus.

I don't think it's too bad... at least for a semiarid climate. I checked out the bushland near Ouyen on Google Street View and it's very beautiful! I give Ouyen a C.

D+. Too warm and dry. I've driven through the town a few times, seems like an interesting place.

I've driven through Ouyen multiple times aswell. It's a twilight zone, like any other of those small middle-of-nowhere pancake-flat wheat cropping towns in NW Vic.

Reminds me of Amman Jordan. Summer seems consistently warm (despite the cool nights) and the overall precipitation is pretty good for Victorian standards (since most of Victoria has bland summers and a bit excessive rainy days). Nights are relieving and refreshing. Winters are cold for my liking.
