Northern every time. My birthday's in summer (not that it's ever remotely decent weather here), and I don't like New Year dividing up the summer either, or Christmas being in summer.

Southern seasons.
Only because I hear of Christmas/NY stories about people getting the flu and missing out on the parties and get-togethers.

Even here on Long Island you'd have to go back to 2009 for a white Christmas. December is a relatively mild winter month here. Wow that's impressive. Around here the chance of a white Christmas is a little better than 50/50 - it's considered the normal state of things, but a particularly mild and/or dry December can leave us with a yellow/brown Christmas instead.
I'd much rather have this kind of White Christmas though!! Here Christmas is never yellow/brown. Usually pretty green grass here in December. This photo is from February 2013, which was colder and snowier than average here, and there's still patches of lush grass, though it's generally a dull green at that time.

Proof that your climate is already far superior to mine! Around here grass goes yellow/brown in November and greens up again in April. Leaves don't pop out on trees again until about May 1 so it doesn't really look or feel like spring yet.

In terms of preferred season location, Northern.
