A hot desert climate or a cool-ish humid subtropical one?

Cairo, IL
The one in Egypt has much better average temperatures but the one in Illinois wins by virtue of, well, actually having precipitation.

First of all, calling Cario, IL "subtropical" is a bit stupid imo. I also don't give a fuck about the Koppen classification, cause it's merely a base for new theories and systems to develop from there, and even Koppen himself never called Cfa "subtropical" anywho. He called it in the originial German text "mild temperate" and the "camelia climate", the climate that evergreen bushes that produce flowers are able to grow, like azaleas.
I voted Cairo, IL because it has 4 seasons, whilst Cairo, Egypt is mostly hot with some chilly nights in the 'winter' time.

100% the Illinois one. It's actually quite a good climate, with a great precipitation pattern and decent temperatures. The Egyptian one is a hot arid shithole.

Not all great cities are found in warm climates, which were also traditionally avoided because of the heat and bugs and diseases that came with the bugs. Houston is probably the closest city to being like that though.

Four distinct seasons where winters don't get too cold and summers too hot.

Cairo, IL for having more seasonality and precipitation. Cairo, Egypt is too hot for too long and too dry.
