Charlwood, Surrey is 37.3C at 11am. Date record for July of 36.5C from 2006 beaten already at 11am.with a good 5 hours of heating to go. Absolutely nuts

Bramham Park weather station (within the City of Leeds district) recorded 36.7C yesterday, the new record for Yorkshire.
Don’t think it will reign supreme today though, we’ll see.

Charlwood 38.5c, Heathrow 37.9c. It's not even midday yet. 39.1C now at Charlwood, incredible. Record smashed before midday. Is 42C + possible? It's a matter of how high now

And there we go. 40.2C at Heathrow at 12:50. Historic day! Very crazy that it has occurred so early as well, still a good 3 hours of heating left

Awesome stuff over there in the UK! London is warmer than Paris atm. The "Channel blocks heat" theory can now go down the toilet where it belongs.

That face on the right is more like my face when I'm struggling in 40°F, rather than celsius lmao.

I'm confused why Paris is cooler today, after a warmer day yesterday, more southerly latitude etc and similar uppers. Looks like potential for another plume in a week's time too

Looks like potential for another plume in a week's time too The wind shift is near Paris and temperature is stalling, probably earlier than London? Btw now it's 0.4°C warmer at Orly than at Heathrow at 2 pm BST. Anyway, congrats for joining the 40°C club!

Are there any other areas in the UK where it has hit 40°C
