Well, well, well...another thread bashing air conditioning abuse by most, this time on the week meteorological summer starts, with warm temps here; I'm perfectly comfortable, sleeping like a baby after only a couple of weeks of indoor temps well into the 80s with dew points above 70°F. Cut back use or outright turn off the air conditioning! It's a massive waste of energy and $$$, especially where electricity demand is already high, plus air conditioner units look ugly as fuck in buildings! You'll feel more comfortable and better tolerate the summer heat, too! Save electricity for other things! If you can't live without it, try cutting back a bit (like, turning the thermostat up from 72°F to 78°F for instance).

I will not completely reject aircon, but I've only turned on the AC like 5 days this year so far. I've had a couple days over 90F so far, so I've obviously used the AC on those days, as I like to keep indoor temps around 76F in summer. That being said, blasting AC into the lower 70s or 60s is unnecessary.

I’ve had 2 days into the 90s so far here in NW Nassau, with highs of 90.2F and 92.7F respectively. Sure it was short lived, but in order to keep the indoor temps at a comfortable 76F I needed to use AC.

Downstairs hasn't gone above 80°F. A/C was turned on one day (this Tuesday) downstairs so not quite zero, previous heat wave stuffy but tolerable for half a day. No A/C in the upstairs bedroom, if it's very hot in the daytime I go downstairs.

When temps are in the 90s opening the windows just makes it hotter inside, though again the nights still being in the 60s has helped.

Don't have a/c. I've had it in previous homes, but the house I'm in now is nice and airy, so not needed at all. A good fan will do for the warmer nights.

I have an average indoor summer temperature about 20°C without AC. As such it's never required in this apartment.

I like having windows open when the weather is nice. A lot of the year is too cold to open the window so it's nice to have them open when I can. But I like being comfortable more than I like windows open. AC wins on the hotter days.
I'll be waiting for the "Embrace the Winter Cold; Reject Indoor Heating!" thread in 6 months.

32c in my living room atm... there's an out of season thunderstorm banging away out to my south east, and its come overcast in the last half an hour. Still don't need AC, although todays max was 33.9c
