This climate battle will pit the cities hosting each of the big four (known as the "Grand Slam") tennis tournaments against one another. As for my pick, I'll go with the Australian Open (Melbourne) for having the best year-round temps of the bunch, as well as dryish summers.
The Australian Open takes place in Melbourne Park during the Aussie midsummer.
The French Open is the second grand slam of the year, and the only one played on a clay surface, at Stade Roland Garros in Paris, in early summer.
Wimbledon takes place at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, located just southwest of central London, and occurs in midsummer.
The US Open is the final grand slam of the year, taking place in Flushing, New York, at the National Tennis Center, during late summer.

Melbourne, Australia wins the competition for me: with the mildest winters, and without the excessively hot and humid summers of New York City.

Reluctantly Melbourne....not a fan of the climates of all 4 locations, nor a fan of the game per say, although some players on the ladies circuit are easy on the eyes.

Effectively for me this comes down to Melbourne vs NYC again, meaning I'll go with NYC - Failbourne has vastly superior winter temps but Noo Yawk is much more interesting overall.

Like choosing from bacteria strains. Easily Melbourne though.

Oh, Melbourne can be very interesting....spring, summer and autumn can literally be so changeable one never knows from one day to the next ( not even the BOM ) whats gunna happen weatherwise. Gotta be the most bi-polar climate on the planet ( other than all the other sites of the Continent facing the Southern Ocean ) Winters are just a dreary shitfest usually without a single redeeming feature haha. The rest of AU hates Melbourne's climate....lol

May I ask, what happened to your hatred of cold/snow? You're a traitor to my anti-polarfoaming agenda I do hate cold and snow - always have, always will. But I find big snowstorms and extreme temperatures more interesting than the endless 50s and mostly cloudy of a Melbourne winter. Not to mention, NYC's summer averages are much warmer, and the precipitation is more plentiful year-round. Don't get me wrong, it was close though.

Toss up for me. They're all good in their own way but I'll give an edge to London for the cool summer mornings.
