Both are at around 31'N. One is a B climate and the other is an E+ (respectively)

Definitely Shanghai - summers are only slightly hotter and at least it rains. Less sun and much better winters.

Shanghai is noticeably better, both climates suck though.

Alexandria. It's not great, but Shanghai has too much rain packed into the wrong season (it's more humid than South Florida too).

Alexandria, neither place is great but at least it’s not as humid as Shanghai

Shanghai.
I was going to vote for Alexandria because I expected the summers to be much less humid due to the lack of precipitation, but then I checked the box again and saw the humidity in the 70s%. Both places are almost equally humid. Shanghai has a comfortable season at least, and it’s not a desert either.

Since Alexandria is in a desert, one would have to assume that it does get a substantial amount of dry heat days. And what if these RH figures were recorded in the morning?

Shanghai humidity is worse, avg dewpoint of 76°F in July, where Alexandria peaks at a 71°F avg dewpoint in August. Past 65°F for dews, every degree matters

Alexandria. I don't like the aridity but it has pleasant temps year-round whereas Shanghai has a long period of chilly, gloomy weather (even though it's far more interesting).

Alexandria, though it’s not good, at least has perfect dry summers, so it’s my pick.
