We haven't maded a temp below freezing in 5 days. The lowest temp so far in November is -1.7C. Right now 2.4C and light rain. Some interesting fluctuations tonight also, at one point during the snowfall it fell to -0.1°C, whereas now it's climbed back up to 1.1°C, so typical November: highly unreliable from hour to hour. Have westerlies dominated your month so far? We've had a couple of easterly days, but miraculously enough they didn't bring any cold. Rather had it quite sunny so far and then cloud formations upon sunset, holding temps up...

We haven't had a single snowflake falling since that snowplosion on 26 October.

Nope. Eastern and Southeastern winds. We haven't had a single snowflake falling since that snowplosion on 26 October. Very surprising that Russian winds still seem so mild then. Whenever we get hit by those we normally get 1/-3 Novembers , and you probably go near or beneath the drunk Köppen's -3°C line when that happens? When I think November I think humid westerlies = mild temps. Having said that, today we've had some significant westerlies. Normality restored in a way.

Noooooo, the last time Turku had a mean below -3C in November was in 1965.

Perkele, that was mild. It was roughly similar down here. Must've been a mass assembly of the polar vortex down over Sweden I seem to remember almost permanent snow cover from like the first snow on November 5 or something that year.
