I was curious to see what the resulting climate would look like if I averaged out the data for the 100 largest cities in the world. For the southern hemisphere cities, I reversed the seasons to be in line with the NH ones. It ended up being a fairly moderate subtropical climate with some monsoonal influence. What are your opinions on this?

B+ from me as well. Slightly warmer and drier than ideal year-round with pretty small diurnals, but overall not bad.

B+ from me too! It's a nice climate, and goes to prove once again that warmer climates are more ideal for human habitation than cold ones!

Winter is decent but summer is too hot and muggy. As such this gets a D+ rating.

Average temperatures are really good but summers are too wet and winters too dry. B-

Pretty good, B+ (A- if it has decent storms). Obviously a bit warm-biased, reflecting global population distribution. Winters are mild but cool enough to give a sense of seasonality. Summers are properly hot but not over the top. And it has the right kind of rain pattern.
Coulda sworn someone posted something similar a while back. It also looked pretty nice.

C+
It's not too shabby, but summer nights are too warm and the rest of the year is too mild. It could stand to have a more even precipitation distribution. Sunshine hours are solid.

B-. Relatively comfortable overall, but too humid and "monsoony" in the summer

Interesting idea, possibly a lot of work, for a mediocre climate. It makes sense that averaging a bunch of cities would give something that's an average climate. C for me, too hot in summer, but comfortable the rest of the year.
Where in the world can you see this exact climate? The patterns remind me of China like someone else said. Climates with those temps in the US are wetter in winter.

Nowhere in China with winters that warm has summers that mild/dry. The precipitation pattern is reminiscent of the Sichuan Basin, summer averages don't seem that far off from Chengdu actually.

It has been a lot of work to gather data for 100 cities, but I'm glad to have that question in my head settled. There were many Chinese cities which had a substantial influence on the rainfall pattern, as others have correctly noticed. It wasn't just China with the wet summer, dry winter pattern though, with most cities on the list exhibiting this. Overall, I'd say this climate is a slightly warmer and drier version of Buenos Aires.
As for the rating, I'll give it a B-. Summers are a bit too hot, humid and long, but it's not a bad climate.

Too cloudy for my liking but not that bad. Looks like a place in Uruguay or Argentina (with inverted seasons)

B-, relatively comfortable from October to May; but loses marks for its hot and humid summers. However, I like the ample sunshine and the t-storms. Human civilisation definitely likes warmer climates!
