Places where the vegetation doesn't seem to fit the climate

Yeah, it's pretty crazy that a place that only gets 16 inches of rain with a dry season in the summer can support forests such as these.

I would've thought that more drought tolerant plants such as the Pacific Madrone tree would dominate such as on Maury Island
