Australia - Mackay

Durban for not being too wet. Refrained from choosing Mackay because I didn't wanna seem biased. Lol.
Wilmington is very out of place tbh. A -18C record low is just unfitting in this bunch, on top of the cool winters that see frost frequently. Should've instead included Tampa or Orlando FL IMO.

Bit disingenuous including Mackay.... it's hundreds of kilometers north of the Tropic of Capricorn, but under the Koppen classification system has one month ( July ) under 18c mean temp cut off point ( 17.2c ) for a tropical climate. A quick look at the last 15 years of July's at the Mackay Regional Office shows a mean of 18.1c

But the thread is about subtropical climates. Durban and Florianopolis are very close to the 18C threshold as well and they are not tropical climates.

And Ponta Deldaga is a mediterranean climate, not a subtropical one. It is also at 37 degrees north, far away from the Tropic of Cancer.

Mediterranean climates ARE subtropical climates my man, hence the Cxa designation by Köppen for both. Precipitation is not a factor as long as it isn't an arid or semi-arid climate. Also fuck off with the geographic location bullshit, who cares if the climate's location is inside or outside of the tropic of cancer/capricorn. Christ sake that's .

Personally I'd say Mackay is a tropical climate on the cooler end, or 'tropical lite'.

Durban, for being less hot and rainy compared to some of the others.

Durban for the same reason as fairweatherfan. It's warm and can get heat but isn't as hot in peak summer as some of these places.

Wilmington for getting some measure of winter cold. ^^ hmmmm....any description of the various forms of 'tropical' shouldn't have the term 'winter cold' included.... just sayin'
