I'll go with close to average overall, but hopefully with a more potent cold snap at some point than we've had in recent years.
We haven't even had -5C for almost five years ffs, that can't last much longer! I don't really want persistent slightly below average weather because that means lots of 3C nothingness, just one or two decent 5+ day snowy spells with ice days would do me fine, then hopefully a sunny and dry February to bring the gloom and damp to an early end.

I predict winter will be warmer than normal due to La Nina, but not quite as far above normal as last winter. Hopefully we still get some decent cold snaps.
Not sure about rainfall. Although La Nina is supposed to mean drier than normal conditions, I'm guessing it will be around normal. There could be a severe outbreak or two in the deep South.

I'm gonna take a leap and say below average. Arctic sea ice cover, northern hemisphere temperatures and snow cover are promising, and hell, it's about time.

Above average, with the warmth we're getting in early November extending far into December. Then January and February hopefully being above average.

Since it is supposed to be La Nina this summer, I'm pretty sure it will be warmer and wetter than average.

Same thing as the last few years: warm start to the winter followed by a cold end. I think another very cold February or March will be in the books

I’m thinking above average December, average January, below average February. Precipitation near average or above average.

Honestly no idea, so I'm going with close to average, since it's most likely.
It will be my second winter in this frigid apartment, so I hope it isn't really cold, but I do also want to see some deep snow at least once.

A little above average as usual: our averages sink with the odd once per decade monster cold snap:
Dec: 3/-2 Jan: 2/-3 Feb: 1/-3

Below the average until the first week of January then gradually rises into above the average. Overall warmer than normal.

Apparently Swedes are forecasting a colder than normal winter for southern Scandinavia and Finland, coldest in the past five years at least. So now I've got someone in my corner.

Same bullshit as every winter the past 5 years. Well above average with above average rainfall. With Christmas being the warmest day in December with a high of 85 F and a low of 76 F.

I'm gonna go ahead and guess a 2-3'C above average winter like we've had for the last five or so years. December: 1/-2, January: 0/-6, February -2/-10. I only hope we don't have a cold March.

I'm gonna go ahead and guess a 2-3'C above average winter like we've had for the last three or so years. December: 1/-2, January: 0/-6, February -2/-10. I only hope we don't have a cold March. February being the coldest month is really overdue. Did you know that February was a colder month than January as far inland as Linköping between 1991-2001? Also February 1996 even down here was only narrowly (2C something) less cold than January 2010. It would be cool to actually experience a February cold wave if there had to be one, basically because of the extra daylight and sunshine we have then, would cause amazing sunsets

Here's the graph for the month however. Try working out what's day and night by looking at the temperatures.

Since it's 2014, I only get closer to an annual weatherbox I figured. 0.59/-0.87 Not quite the 0'C mean I was hoping for but still. Only 0.3'C warmer than the airport. Maybe the University station isn't so inaccurate then. Even had lower average highs. Diurnals were like half as high.

I guess it must've been quite a surreal to experience to live through such a low diurnal month... especially up there where winter diurnals usually are 2-3°C higher than down here
