Pirlangimpi ( formerly Garden Point ) is an Indigenous community on the north coast of the Tiwi Islands ( and 130klm north of Darwin ) The town itself is sited close to a failed settlement attempt by colonial Britain in the 1820's ( Fort Dundas ). Just prior to WW2 a Catholic Mission was established at Garden Point to house and school 'half-cast children'. These kids were evacuated from the mission after the first Jap air raids on Darwin in 1942. The Mission closed in 1968. www.australiaforeveryone.com.au/tiwi-islands/Hector the Convector over the Tiwi Islands Climate: Pirlangimpi has a tropical monsoon climate (Am) with hot temperatures present year round. There are three seasons. The dry season, the buildup, and the wet season. The wet season typically runs from the end of October through April, though rainy days can be experienced during the dry season and the buildup. Some more detailed climate data: Anyways....rate away.....

A-, overall a very good climate. The only thing that could make this place any better is a less extreme dry season.

C- for the climate, it's too oppressively hot and rainy for much of the year, but offers a wonderful summery dry season
A+ for the name Hector the Convector of course

D+, too monotonous, hot, and humid. Precipitation pattern is also too bipolar (if it were spread evenly throughout the year it would be a lot better).

Good climate, I'd prefer a little more seasonal temp variation and less seasonal rainfall variation, but still definitely livable.
