I'll choose New Bern, though shocking that it's all time record low is only 3°C higher than Bern's This is a unique feature of the winter of southeastern US subtropical climates. They're prone to severe cold waves. When I see weather maps, I always find the most dramatic temperature changes in this regions. For the most dramatic summer temp swings, go to the Nullarbor region of Australia. I can see how it drops from 45°C to 16°C then rises to 31°C in mid-summer.

Bern, Switzerland for cooler temperatures. My ideal summer is in between the two, but my ideal winter is similar to Bern's or a bit colder.

Sun, warmth and t-storms all the way, which New Bern delivers! Too warm and humid summers IMO, but springs and autumns are nice (although likely variable)
