Hmmm a few 35c's in the forecast for later in the week. Getting close to the end of 35c temps by mid to late May. Having said that, both June and July 2019 recorded a 35c, the first such temps at the Airport since records began in 1942.

Relatively average forecast now What same latitude Finland is getting in comparison is sickening though. Norway is also getting somewhat of a heatwave

It is getting warmer after a very poor start of the month and now there are 20c+ days in the forecast until the end. However, compared to yesterday the highs have been downgraded. It seems that the warmest day will be Wednesday, yesterday wo forecasted 28c for locations in Northern Estonia for Wednesday.

What same latitude Finland is getting in comparison is sickening though. Considering how Sweden has been warmer than Finland at the same latitude for ages, this is only a small compensation.

Damn that sucks. Hopefully you will be included in the next wave of warmth.

Above 61N it's not really.

Tamperkele could see the first 25C of the year in Finland.

What same latitude Finland is getting in comparison is sickening though. Considering how Sweden has been warmer than Finland at the same latitude for ages, this is only a small compensation. I decided to look at Umeå, Seinäjoki (first best place that I knew had full data at a similar latitude to us), and Härnösand (more similar in latitude to Seinäjoki) compared to the 91-20 normal. Place | Umeå | Seinäjoki | Härnösand | January | -3.0 | -0.4 | -2.5 | February | -1.9 | -3.5 | -0.6 | March | +2.0 | +1.1 | +2.4 | April | +0.6 | -0.2 | +1.5 | Average | -0.6 | -0.7 | +0.2 |
So yeah, while Umeå hasn't had the same luck as further south in Sweden, Sweden has had a better year so far, especially when only looking at the last three months.

Sat, 5/8: 57/42 Sun, 5/9: 61/53 Mon, 5/10: 66/47 Tue, 5/11: 62/43 Wed, 5/12: 65/44
Really chilly for May, but I'm not complaining! Looks like upper 70s and 80s return after next weekend.

@b87 Cool! Hopefully it pans out. My forecast has improved as well—the latest weather model runs have less cloud cover.

About time we had an average forecast for May! Benfxmth Still looks pretty cloudy, we’ve had an extended March right up until the start of May, what an awful waste of spring this year has been... nothing but below average day after day. About time we had some proper warmth or even average temperatures.. so used to cold weather that even average May temperatures will now feel warm

That forecast looks like it is hinting at warming up and becoming sunnier later in the month, in which case we will probably get more than 206 hours. The May average is 209 hours.

Temps mostly below average (average high is now in the mid 80's) and rain/t-storms the first half of the coming week. Wunderground is calling for a high of 67F Wednesday!

No doubt it will be downgraded.
Of course. Now, there are only 3 summerly days left for Riga: Monday to Wednesday.
