The Met Office has issued Northern Ireland with an amber weather warning as Hurricane Ophelia continues across the Atlantic towards the British Isles. The warning of "potential danger to life" came as the Republic of Ireland called a national emergency meeting. Ophelia, on its way from the Azores in the Atlantic Ocean, is currently blowing winds of 90mph (145km/h). The hurricane will be a storm when it hits the UK, exactly 30 years after the Great Storm of 1987 killed 18 people. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-41627442

Even when it cools down the lows will still be above average. 14/15 nights so far this month have been above average, with the Tmin currently 3.5C above normal!

Wow, that is a LOT of rain for just one week, can your river systems handle that sort of rainfall? We do get stuck weather patterns off the Atlantic here but you wouldn't expect rain that constant, and certainly not those sorts of totals in a week. Just checked forecast again and now it says 100mm on Wednesday...! Our rivers are good and can cope with a lot of rain but this will cause some flooding problems in the greater Vancouver area if it pans out like this.

It's unseasonably warm now but nights will go below freezing soon. Beercules, a few of those days almost look like GΓΆle!

Lmao at how quickly it turns to shit, still miles better than last October though. I'd prefer those cloudy days have 5-10 mm of rain each, just cloudy weather is useless to me.
