5/5 for me. Whether a climate has hot summers or not can make or break a climate for me, even if it has a mildish winter, I need summer heat to thrive in this world.
Single most important factor in grading a climate for me, followed by sunshine hours and winter temps come in third; I'd easily take, for instance, a climate with 35/15°F winters for 95/75°F summers over a climate with 70/55°F summers but 60/45°F winters, especially if the former gets plenty of storms in summer.
Summers must be reliably hot for me to have a high opinion on a climate, with at minimum mid-upper 80s °F an avg, preferably the 90s/100s °F during the day, and also lows in the 70s and no polar outbreaks, so that it rarely or never feels cold in what's supposed to be the warmest time of year.

Important in what sense? Having mild summer temps (20-25°C) is very important to me, and high temperatures (over 25°C, and esp. over 30°C) is unwanted.

5/5 crucial
The most important season to me when it comes to weather. Summer gotta be hot. As Ben said, it makes or breaks the climate.

4/5. Both summer and winter temps are important, but I find good summer temps to be easier to achieve than good winter temps. Summer temps vary less and are usually in an acceptable range. But the most important thing is overall balance. I prefer a cooler summer if the winter is mild, likewise a hotter summer if the winter is cold. Summers (and winters) that are too mild are better than too extreme.

3/5, important but not one of the most important factors. Summer dews honestly matter more than summer temps, I’m with hotter than ideal summers if humidity is low, like Fort Collins, but if summer temps are ideal and it’s quite humid that sucks.
Similarly, I care more about thunderstorms than summer temps, a hotter/cooler than ideal summer with lots of storms is better than a bone dry summer with ideal temps.
Summer temps do become more important if winters are too cold, to ensure there’s still a good stretch of pleasant weather. When winters are mild, summer temps become less important.

5/5. I tend to check summer temps first before anything else in climate battle threads. I have a fairly wide tolerance range in winter while very narrow(picky) in summer to find my type of climate.

5/5 If highs aren’t between ~74 and ~81 with lows 55-62 the climate sucks

4/5 for me. The summer highs gotta be warm, preferably 80sºF or 90sºF. I don't care about summer lows that much, as long as they're consistently above 50ºF.
That being said, having a lack of rain and a plethora of sun in summer are also important factors that make a great summer.

4/5. I definitely prefer hot (30C+ average) summers with high dew points (18C+), but the lack of a cold winter is generally more important to me. I'd take Seattle over Omaha, for instance.

3, about as important as all the other seasons.

3/5. Not particularly important for a place with mild winters such as here. However, for colder places, I can understand why summer is more important- as respite from a freezing winter

Absolutely critical. Summer needs to be hot. Daytime needs to be consistently hot, 30-40C and more, no god damned polar outbreaks. Nights should be above 20C for atleast most of the night, and preferably no lower than 18C.
Lows might even be more important. Warm lows make it feel like summer. Cold lows result in fake heat, i.e. a forecast of 30C or so and it is still 22C at midday because the low was 12C is bullshit and not summer weather. It's fake heat.

I don't really dwell on it other than I fucken hate cold...lol...... any blue colors in a weather box gets an automatic downgrade. Being a stats/data nerd, I always take notice of the the means and extremes in all the places I visit, work or live and heat and cold interests me equally.... but sure as shit I don't wanna live in a cold climate.

3/5 I want a warm to slightly hot summer. But so long as the average highs are within the 75-90°F (24-32°C) range, I don't really care. Having a cold winter is more important to me.

4. Definitely more important than winter temps, though I would be fine with a wide range of summer temps as long as it's at least warm/slightly hot.

4/5, very important but not as winter's. Give me a warm summer, just not too cool or way too hot.

5/5. I think that warm lows are even more important than hot highs in summer. A cold 55-60°F low is still shit even if the daily high was 100°F, means 12 PM temps of 75°F or some bullshit; even if average highs are in the lower-mid 80s F, at least let lows be nice and warm in the 70s F.
My rating of a climate drops off significantly when the mean temp in the warmest month is below around the 72-75°F range irrespective of other factors.

3/5
Summer temperatures here are almost always within a comfortable range for myself. Sunshine and rainfall levels are far more important and they can make or break my enjoyment of outdoor social or sporting events.
