Also, both are very admired climates in Australia: CSIRO considered Port Macquarie to be the best climate in Australia due to its mild winters and pleasant summers. As for Perth, some us here really envy it. Lol.

Perth for the warmer summers, it's got a worse precip pattern though

Port Macquarie for the superior precip pattern.

Perth of course, better temps and a far superior precipitation pattern.

Quite difficult one. Probably Perth because stable dew point range over the seasons without being too humid and less frequent thunderstorms.

Port Macquarie for more changeable summers (in terms of sky cover/precip, not temperature) and being slightly cooler in general. I'd even give it an A-.

Definitely the one with wet summers. Actually one of the best Aussie climates!

Macqaurie is a pretty good climate, Perth is horrible. Easy choice.

Both are good, but Macquarie's precipitation pattern and temperatures earns my vote

As for me, a tough call. I envy Perth's bright, long, dry summers. But I don't like its pretty wet, dreary winters. The cold 14C rain days will depress me in winter. PM seems too wet in the summer, but its winters are rather pleasant and sunny. I may give the edge to PM for having drier sunny winters.

Port Macquarie for the summer-heavy rainfall pattern and storms.

To be fair, Perth Metro has recorded only 64 sub 15c days since 2000. So in 24 years that's an average of just under 3 such days per year. 7 such days in 2005 and zero such days in 2015 and 2016. And only 1 such day in 2007, 2019 and 2020. So not real common actually.... sub 15c max temps.

But either way, 15-17C rain days are still unappetizing.
