Its been an absolute ball tearer of a wet season along the far eastern coast of the NT. Coupla tropical cyclones and vigorous monsoonal troughs really delivered big time this season. The region can vary significantly season to season with rainfall often sporadic and highly dependent on Gulf of Carpentaria tropical depressions. An automated weather station run by the Bureau of Meteorology has been operating on the island since 1968 I worked on the mainland directly opposite the Islands during the '94-'95 wet season ( at Bing Bong Port ) and have done a fair bit of fishing around the islands. What are the temps? Pretty good rainfall although Iโd rather have a drier February-March and wetter November-December

C+, only 3 unliveable months, Jackoffuary, Fuckuary and Farch. The other 4 months look like stellar summer months.

C+, only two unliveable months, Fuckuary and Farch. The January looks passable, and the other 4 months look like stellar summer months. That January has more rain than March On average, yes. Not in 2023-2024 though, which is what Greys asked us to rate.

D, lows way too warm. Hardly anything below 25 C. Yeah... but consider this... ya need to wear clothes of some sort below 25c... lol So after epic wet season conditions, the dry season is a blessed relief for us locals... sometimes even need a blanket on the bed !! Yikes !! Centre Island min and max temps in the 2023 dry season:

B. A bit too warm lows for the daily highs, but I'm sure there was lots of storms to boot, makes up for it

A- for Centre Island, the only improvement could be a less extreme dry season. That wet season looks perfect.

Not bad, but just a bit too warm for me overall. Also, a more evenly distributed precipitation pattern would be better.

E. Miserable temps but the good, frequent storms save it from an F.
