There are 10 campuses of the University of California (UC). Which ones have the best climate? If you want wet summers or cold winters, you're out of luck, but otherwise there's a decent selection. I tried to use the most representative stations. You may choose two. In order of increasing annual mean temperature, they are: 1) UC San Francisco: San Francisco, CA 2) UC Berkeley: Berkeley, CA 3) UC Santa Cruz: Santa Cruz, CA 4) UC Santa Barbara: Isla Vista/Goleta, CA 5) UC Davis: Davis, CA 6) UC Merced: Merced, CA 7) UC San Diego: La Jolla, San Diego, CA (wasn't sure whether to use Carlsbad or San Diego airport, PRISM seems to think Carlsbad is more representative) 8) UC Los Angeles: Westwood, Los Angeles, CA 9) UC Irvine: Irvine, CA 10) UC Riverside: Riverside, CA

All deserts, so Irvine and Riverside for being the warmest two UC Santa Cruz is literally in a dense forest so IDK what you're talking about

Irvine, glad to have gone there, the weather was nice almost all the time Second choice would be Davis, nice classical Mediterranean climate, though Riverside, LA, SB, SD are all good too. Can't go wrong with any of them tbh (except UCSF which is not an undergraduate school anyways).

I choose Davis, because it's has four distinct seasons and isn't as dry or extreme as Merced.
And Santa Cruz, because the campus is in a beautiful dense forest, and it has the rain to thank for that.

Unironically voted for UC Berkeley and UCLA. Precipitation and some degree of summer warmth do matter.
Edit: UC Santa Cruz if I had a third option. More rain and slightly warmer summer days than UC Berkeley.

Davis has the perfect balance of good temperatures and some (relatively) decent rainfall

This was a hard one, and I'm tentatively going with Santa Cruz for being the warmest of the non-arid ones.

All deserts, so Irvine and Riverside for being the warmest two Hates deserts, yet picks ones that are actually (semi)deserts.

Davis for being the rainiest of the ones that also have hot summers.

A lot of these are so similar it’s hard to pick. Berkeley and Santa Cruz I guess, more rain and cooler winter than the socal ones. The inland ones all have shitty summers.

Davis
- goated precip pattern (as with all these climates) and annual average precipitation is within my ideal range of 15-30"
- winter actually feels somewhat cool/chilly
- temps are generally pleasant year-round, and although summer highs are a little too hot for my liking, it cools down nicely at night.

Im only choosing San Francisco for the 'Biden' of the options, because I hate dry summers that much, wish Arcata was on this list
