One climate is pretty hot in the summer for its latitude and the other is somewhat cool for its latitude (in summer). Both are on a similar latitude range (35'-37') and are on the coast.

Nicosia!
Where did the average lows go in the table? Either way, it's a good Med climate even if too arid most of the year.

Nicosia is missing average lows, and I'm pretty sure it doesn't average 24 precip days a month in winter.
But anyways, Melbourne wins this one.

Melbourne. Imagine having as much boring, pitiful drizzle as Nicosia.

Melbourne. Imagine having as much boring, pitiful drizzle as Nicosia. I don't know, something's fishy about the high amount of rain days for such a dry climate...๐คทโโ๏ธ

There's a station in Cyprus that averages 36 precip days in January (according to WMO normals anyway), so yeah, take those number with a grain of salt or two...
Nicosia for being warmer. Both pretty bad climates though.

Confused about the rain days figures, but whatever. Nicosia wins for the hotter, drier summers and more winter rain.

Nicosia for having reliably hot summers and fewer months with recorded frosts.

Nicosia for having reliably hot summers and fewer months with recorded frosts. Melbourne hasn't had a freeze since 15th July 1984 when -0.1c was recorded at the Melbourne Regional Office. The CBD has substantial UHI, which prompted a move of the official site to nearby Olympic Park in 2016. The last freeze at Melbourne Airport was in July 2021, -0.1c. Prior to that July 2017 with 2 consecutive mins of -0.4c and -0.6c. The wikibox for Melbourne Airport is shows warmer max temps and cooler min temps than the official City site.
