Kiama is on the south coast of NSW in Australia and Tartus is in the eastern Mediterranean on Syria's coast. Both are on the 34' latitude, and both are relatively wet.

Tartus, awesome rainy Mediterranean climate
Here's a picture of the great "desert" of Tartus countryside. 35" of annual rainfall and the temps aren't torrid, but it's a "desert". Quite green, innit?

Tartus is better, has superior summers. 884 mm of yearly rainfall - that's like Zagreb, so desert my ass.

Hard man! People think Middle East = Desert. Lmao Tartus gets the same amount of annual rainfall as Western Sydney does. So I guess us Westies are in a "desert" too? Now let me go and look for Paul Atreides, he must be in Penrith...

Kiama for its warm oceanic climate- similar to here with warmer days; and with actual summer precipitation.
