Both are Mediterranean climates. One has reliably hot summers (with cool winters that see -11C rec lows with the rare snowfall) and the other has relatively mild winters. Would you sacrifice Rome's nice hot summers for Albany's milder winters?

Roma for the temps very close to ideal. Albany is too mild, especially in summer. Actually reminds me of some areas of northern California.
Edit, didn't know Roma had 1991-2020 averages. Finally it updated them. I guess Servizio Meteorologico has finally stopped being a third world service.

Rome for more seasonality and winter chill. I don't like the warm summer nights though.

I don't like using the Albany Airport site climate box.. its 12 klm north of the town CBD and is much warmer than the town site ( in a park right on the coast ) Town Site: The two airport Sites:
