Turpan has approximately 3 pleasant months, Chaiten has 0. Doesn’t matter if the temps are better if there’s constant heavy rain. Turpan wins although it’s awful.

A really difficult choice!
Turpan has some good months but way too dry, and Chaitén has good precipitation (precipitation matters a lot for me) but too cold year-round
I voted Chaitén. At least the precipitation keeps the area lush.

Yes it's a hyperarid shithole, but it's got interesting temperature variation and no shortage of actual warmth, as opposed to Chaiten which is only good for growing mold and contemplating suicide.
