There are two places called Seville at 37°N/S. One is a major city in southern Spain, and the other is a town on the eastern outskirts of Melbourne. They have pretty different climates despite being at a similar latitude, especially when it comes to summer temps. Seville, SpainRecords are missing from the 1991-2020 weatherbox for some reason so I also put in the 1981-2010 box. Seville, Victoria
The data is taken from the closest station, Coldstream. The station is a notable frost hollow though, so I don't know how different the mins would be in Seville. However, I don't think it would be a huge discrepancy.

Spanish one for being reliably hot in summer and not getting subarctic lows, didn't even have to look at the boxes

Victoria because it's not a depressing desert hellhole

Spain by lightyears. Reliably hot summers, immense sunshine with warmer winter lows.
Coldstream was in my mind today btw. Creepy that this thread was made and its climate box was in the battle. Lol...
For those who don't know, Coldstream is a township just slightly outside of the Greater Melbourne area. In all fairness, it does seem to be a slightly "improved" Melbourne at least in summertime.

Spain, and it's not close LOL. Some interesting trivia: Auckland is very close to the antipodal point for Seville. Spain would easily win that battle too.

Victoria, both are decent but not ideal in temps, but Victoria's precip is much better

Seville, Spain.... the changeable climate of Victoria south of the Ranges is pretty grim and Coldstream/Seville is aptly named... can be cold in any month of the year.

when I glimpsed the phrase "outskirts of Melbourne", I knew then and there that the answer is Spain...

When the crummer lows are as cold, or even colder than places near the arctic circle, there ain't no improvement...

Some historical cold summer temps ( max and min ) in the last 30 years.... look at Xmas Day 2006... fuck that !!

Yeah fair point, the summer lows are disastrous, but I was a bit intrigued with the 28C average highs.

Sevilla ESPAÑA for the hot, dry summers and the winters with less drizzle, more proper heavy rain, and an almost year-round growing season.
